Work in airplane mode?

Phone that searches for signals between islands here in Hawaii drain power faster so will the app work in airplane mode?

It depends on your phone.

In Airplane mode a phone must not send any signal but could still receive some. That’s enough for GPS to work. But a phone’s OS could decide to switch off radio module completely.

Yes that works, you do have to upload the tracks over WIFI afterwards in order to see yourself in the replay.

Airplane modes disables GPS, however, if you enable GPS when on airplane mode it should work.

I use the GPRS band while sailing because it doesn’t drain the battery and GPRS signal can reach MUCH further out to sea.
