Remove the time and distance to start line functions

After much testing and research, we have confirmed that the GPS in the watch (and indeed in a phone or any general purpose GPS device) is only able to provide reliable position reporting to around 5 metres accuracy, and this is not sufficient to provide reliable ‘time on distance’ reporting for yacht racing.

As a result, we have reluctantly removed all the start line functionality from the app.

• Condense to a single app.

With the start line functions removed, we recovered sufficient memory space in the app to be able to offer most the features in a single app – renamed “raceQs”.

• Remove multiple marks files.

Unfortunately there was not sufficient memory to support the “Multiple marks” feature, which has been removed from the app.

Whilst the raceQs web site continues to allow the upload of multiple mark files to “My Marks”, only one of the files will be downloaded to your watch, so, to avoid confusion and disappointment we recommend that you only maintain a single marks file in your “My Marks”.
