Home Forums What’s New Trouble with Google Earth? Try Cesium 3D Replays (beta)!

As you may have heard, Google Earth announced they are phasing out their Google Earth web plugin by the end of 2015. Unfortunately, this is the plugin that we use for raceQs. Google has already stopped supporting the plugin, which has created some problems with newer web browsers.
Good news! We have been hard at work, switching raceQs to another free 3D replay engine, called “Cesium”. The beta version is up and running, and you can try it out by selecting the “new version” of raceQs. You can access Cesium from the Google Earth error message in your browser, or you can switch to it from a Google Earth replay.
Please use the new “Feedback” button (right hand side of your screen) to report any problems that you see with the brand new Cesium replays.

    Hello,

We sail at 59 ° north (65 k north Stockholm, Sweden) but according to the Cesium map we have ice cream all year round. Is it possible to change the background map?

    Regards / Jonas
