Race recording without smart phone

Is it possible to record boats using something like a GPS tracker? We are sailing dinghies and some sailers don’t want to bring their smart phones.

Sure – any GPS device that can record a race track and connect to an app that will receive the track and export it to GPX will generate a file that you can upload to raceQs. I use easyGps (Google it – free excellent app) on my PC to do this.
