Home Forums 3d Race Replay Calculating finish times and applying ratings

I have setup several races and appreciate what RaceQs has to offer. I’m interested in understanding how I can record finish times across the finish line for each boat and than accessing these finish times via an API. This would enable me to very quickly verify and use the finish times for each boat. Since we do not do one design racing, I need to run the corrections afterwards. Having the finish times would greatly simplify my work!

    Thanks,
    Devin

    Devin,

Currently, there is no such API.

Note that we have implemented several handicap systems and the app shows corrected times in the “fleet chart”. Make sure:

    1. A handicap method is specified for a start

    2. Appropriate handicap rating is specified for each boat

Please check existing functionality and describe your requirements in more detail and we’ll consider a change.

Thanks for the reply. Our club uses a modified PHRF rating system. So all I only really need access to is each boats actual finish time. Ideally, I could programattically access the finish times via an API. You have a calculation that determines a finish time based on the boat crossing the boundary?

BTW – I noticed that the D-PN ratings must be entered as an Integer. You should allow real numbers as most ratings are non-integers.

    Thx

    Devin,

In our current architecture we do all calculations client-side. So, that is not too easy to implement such an API.

We could possibly add your modified PHRF to our list. What do you think?

The modified ratings are based upon wind conditions similar to Portsmouth. As such, it will be difficult to incorporate. All I need is a report indicating the boat name and their approximate finish time. I could then do the calculations on my side. Can you provide boat name and their approximate finish time in a file or via the API?

    Thanks,
    Devin

Can you provide boat name and their approximate finish time in a file (csv) or via the API? I could also work with json.
